The LayerLock system is powered by a secure, multi-step hardware process designed to respond quickly and intelligently in high-risk situations.
Key Fob Alert
Once an emergency situation is recognized, select personnel (such as an SRO) will use the key fob to alert the alert badge.

What makes LayerLock different from other safes?
Unlike traditional safes, which allow access anytime with a code or stored fingerprint, LayerLock introduces an additional layer of security. The safe remains dormant until it receives an activation signal from the panic button, ensuring firearms are only accessible during genuine emergencies. Once activated, the safe can then accept a PIN or fingerprint for access.
Who has access to open the safes?
In an ideal setup, access to the safes is highly controlled and dependent on a two-tiered system. A select group of trusted administrative personnel carries the panic buttons, which are required to activate the safe and bring it out of its dormant state. Once activated, only the staff member in whose room the safe is located has the ability to unlock it using their PIN or fingerprint. This ensures firearms remain secure and accessible only during genuine emergencies, minimizing risks and safeguarding against unauthorized use, but this is all customized based on the needs of the building.
Does every classroom get safe?
This would all be customizable based on the building’s needs and what staff members are willing to have the safes in their classroom and which ones are willing to carry the panic button.
